SUMMARY:Recycle to Ride Bike Giveaway
DESCRIPTION:Giving used and unwanted bikes a second life. This program is partly funded by The Regional Municipality of York.\n\n\n\nOnly open to York Region residents. \nTimeslot tickets every 30 min. 4PM\, 4:30PM\, 5PM\, 5:30PM \nEvery year\, thousands of bikes are thrown away in landfills. Some of these bikes are in repairable and reusable condition and can be recovered for community benefit. Others can be stripped for usable parts and repair materials. Despite their remaining utility\, these bikes typically end up as scrap metal. \nThroughout the summer\, we will host a series of bike rescue clinics where volunteer can learn bike repair and refurbishment. Bicycles fixed in this program will be given away to the community for free in monthly public bike giveaways from June to October around York Region. \nFull program details on our website: https://markhamcycles.ca/rtr/ \nTerms and Conditions \n\nOnline registration on Eventbrite is required\nGiveaway is first-come first-serve with your ticket time-slots\, early check-in will not be possible\nWalk-ins must register online\, if available on giveaway date\nOnly one bike per adult\, per registration and per ticket\nchildren can accompany an adult registration\nBicycles are given away as-is and may be require repair\nBicycles cannot be put on hold and cannot be claimed prior to giveaway date\nTypes of bikes depends on availability we have that month\nWe typically have more kids bikes than adult bikes\n\nMarkham Cycles commits to providing a safe\, respectful and harassment-free experience for our participants\, volunteers\, staff and general public.
