DESCRIPTION:Learn Sewing Machine Basics to make reusable period pads with Help A Girl Out. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn this workshop presented by Help A Girl Out\, you’ll learn sewing machine basics to make reusable period pads and how reusable menstrual products help end period poverty and help the environment. All materials will be provided. Registration required. \nPlease note: All participants must complete a makerspace waiver before the start of the program. \nHAGO is an anti-poverty organization based in Brampton Ontario\, that aims to eliminate period poverty in Canada and developing countries. They have distributed hundreds of thousands of menstrual products since 2018. They serve individuals and centers across Canada\, the Caribbean\, and a few African countries. \nPeriod poverty is a worldwide health crisis that affects mental health\, reproductive health\, self-esteem\, and confidence. Reusable pads not only reduce waste to landfills but also ensure that individuals have consistent access to period products for years at a time\, eliminating period poverty sustainably.
